This program helps meet the needs of children in the county who normally receive free breakfast and/or lunch during the school year. Grace parishioners, in conjunction with the Fauquier County Food Distribution Coalition, donate breakfast & lunch items which supplement the regular support. Each month the church collects specific items to give through the Fauquier County Food Distribution Coalition (though we collect not just food, but many different types of items, including clothes, household items, toiletries, etc.). Distribution is on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Warrenton United Methodist Church.
The Seven Loaves food pantry in Middleburg is a regional resource, serving multiple counties. Grace Church has supported Seven Loaves over the years by collecting unsold produce from a local Sunday Farmer’s Market, and delivering to Seven Loaves.
Community Lunch is held monthly in the Grace Church Parish Hall, and is free and open to everyone! Visit with your neighbors, renew old acquaintances, meet new friends. Bring your shut-in neighbor, your relative, or friend to join in. We are very child friendly. Volunteers welcome!
Each fall Grace Church takes part in the Fauquier F.I.S.H. (For Immediate Sympathetic Help) Backpack Collection, providing backpacks filled with school supplies. Fauquier FISH distributes hundreds of these backpacks to needy children in the area each year, just before school starts.
Now in its 10th year, on Thanksgiving Day Grace parishioners provide a bounty of traditional holiday food, shared with the greater community at no cost to the guests. We’ve had as many as 100 folks gather for this wonderful annual event, to give thanks to God, share fellowship, and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
The Grace Church Woodchucks are a critical ministry of Grace Church during the cold winter months here in Fauquier County, VA. There are folks who live out in the especially rural areas of the county who depend on wood to heat their homes. The Woodchucks cut, split, load and deliver firewood to those in need. The Wood Ministry is a multi-denominational effort with several other churches in the region.
The Giving Tree is one of our longest-running Outreach ministries, now in its 18th year. Parishioners select paper cranes from the Christmas tree in the Parish Hall and purchase gifts for the individuals named on the cranes. The gifts are brought to church, wrapped, and delivered before Christmas. Recipients include nursing home residents, adults and children in shelters, and other Fauquier County families.
