Affordable Housing

A significant outreach ministry of Grace Church is our partnership with the Windy Hill Foundation to provide affordable housing in The Plains. In 2010 Windy Hill teamed with Grace Church to renovate the old Victorian-era rectory on Fauquier Avenue. In the preceding years the rectory had fallen into disrepair and for financial reasons was nearly demolished.

A proposal from the Windy Hill Foundation to lease the property from Grace and renovate it for affordable housing was approved by the Vestry. Windy Hill and Grace worked together to raise funds for renovation, and in November of 2012 two, 2- bedroom units were made available in The Plains, significantly increasing the affordable housing options in the village.
